Leicester Cathedral has unveiled its plans for a tomb to hold the remains of King Richard III as relatives of King Richard III mount a legal challenge to bury him in York, not Leicester. In granting the Plantagenet Alliance permission to fight for King Richard's final resting place, the high court judge warned against resurrecting the Wars of the Roses.

Just learned that the discovery of King Richard's body was even more of a miracle than we thought. His grave came within inches of being destroyed.

“It’s a miracle that King Richard's skeleton was where it was," site director Mathew Morris of the university's archaeological services said in a written statement. "To the east, there is a massive disturbance that has removed all evidence of the church -- which must have come within inches of his head."

My blog is a work in progress and I hope to be adding to it weekly over the summer. My aim is to give readers and writers a behind-the-scenes look at the historical figures that populate my stories, as well as the writing and publishing process which sometimes seems to be - and sometimes is - quite mysterious. In addition to giving you my own experience, I'll be interviewing other authors to get their input.
